At Squeeze, we put local sourcing in the spotlight, teaming up with Limehouse Produce, a stalwart of Charleston’s culinary scene for over seven decades. Our produce comes straight from Limehouse in North Charleston, ensuring freshness, while reducing shipping emissions incurred by sourcing from outside the local community. We also champion local spirits, beers, and mixers whenever possible. By backing regional distilleries and breweries, we additionally shrink our environmental footprint but also celebrate the diverse flavors of the Lowcountry.

Additionally, all the green we spend on ingredients from limes to mint and everything not green in between, supports the local economy. Keeping more jobs and tax revenue in the Charleston area may not be the primary objective of our local sourcing, but it is an outcome that’s sure to make any other bar service not doing it, a little, shall we say green with envy. 

Commitment To Sustainability: From Straws & Silverware To Syrups:

Beyond just the ingredients and bad green puns mentioned above, sustainability runs deep in our bar practices. We bid farewell to single-use plastics, opting instead for bamboo straws and compostable cups through our eco-package add-on. Plus, we’re happy to provide rental counts and suggestions for sustainable serving options, ensuring our clients have choices that align with their event needs while minimizing environmental impact. Additionally, many of our flavored syrups are homemade using those aforementioned fresh, locally sourced ingredients. There are times it would be easier to source pre-packaged syrup, but we view each syrup as a labor of love and a small way to stay true to our mission to raise the bar on beverage catering.

Behind the scenes, our team at Squeeze further commits to going green through waste reduction. It starts with thoughtful ingredient selection. We use careful and resource management and we’ll even recycle citrus peels into the homemade syrups whenever possible. We’re constantly seeking ways to shrink our ecological footprint without compromising on quality or taste.

Ingredients:

  • 5 Basil Leaves
  • 8 Mint Leaves
  • 6 oz Absolut Citron
  • 1.25 oz St Germain/Elderflower Liqueur
  • 1 oz Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 oz Simple Syrup
  • Cucumber & Basil Leaf (for garnish)

Directions:

  • Cut 2 thin slices of cucumber to reserve for garnish.
  • Fill a shaker with mint, basil, liqueur, simple syrup and lemon juice, and shake.
  • Add the vodka, and shake.
  • Strain into glass with ice.
  • Garnish cocktail with a cucumber slice.

The Shamrock Smash: The Perfect St. Patrick’s Day Cocktail

Shamrock Smash

Ingredients:

  • 2.25 oz Gin
  • 2.25 oz Dry Vermouth
  • 0.5 oz Simple Syrup
  • 0.5 oz Lime Juice
  • 8-10 Leaves Fresh Mint
  • 4 Slices Fresh Cucumber
  • 2 Egg Whites

Directions:

  • Place mint leaves and slices of cucumber into a cocktail shaker and muddle it.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients into a shaker.
  • Dry shake to froth the egg white.
  • Add ice, and shake until cold.
  • Strain into a coupe glass.
